Results of LinkedIn’s ‘Message Ad” Article Promo
In this story, I cover my little experiment of spending 50$ on LinkedIn’s ‘message ad’ campaign to promote a niche audience article about a topic in ‘product management’.
I always wondered if this is a viable option for a writer to reach a new relevant audience thanks to the ability to target a niche audience and decided to give it a shot. My goals were:
- learn how can I set up such a promo campaign with LinkedIn
- understand available targetting options
- run it and collect results
- conclude if this is a viable option for articles (worth or not)
So let’s delve through the journey:
Setting up and starting the campaign
The process of setting up your ad was pretty straight forward. Just click on the “Work” button in the top right corner of LinkedIn’s web-site and then select the ‘Advertise’ option.
You land on the “Campaign Manager” web-site, where there is a wizard that helps you to set up your Account > Campaign > Ad. The UI is not yet perfect and feels a bit clunky (unlike…
